As we approach the end of 2020 and take stock of all that's happened, it's hard to avoid questioning the future of work and wonder how the workplace will evolve moving forward.
As IT Recruitment specialists Colossus Associates are constantly asking these questions and speaking to our customers to get their take on employee expectations and the development of their offer to new talent.
On my search for opinons on the future of work, I came across a study by CISCO called the 'The Workforce of the Future' and it's an excellent insight into employee expectations of work moving forward.
I think some major take homes are that almost 9 in 10 employees (87%) want greater ownership of defining when and how they use office space. 63% surveyed want greater autonomy. 61% have enjoyed faster decision making, prompted by more collaborative working and connected tech and finally 58% would like to continue to travel less and use their working day more productively.
These new expectations are going to lead to rapid development in improved connectivity, AI and analytics whilst demanding a concious company culture to hold it all together.
It's a very interesting time and the future looks bright across the IT/Tech sector. Colossus Associates aims to be at the forefront of this change, connecting the brightest talent to one of the most innovative sectors in the UK. You can read more of CISCO's excellent study here.
Everyone at Colossus Associates wishes you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
