One of Birmingham's best kept secrets are yet again growing the team and are looking for a QA automation expert. This is a critical position to help ensure that software products are delivered to an appropriately high standard. The QA Lead must be a hands-on expert in a variety of test automation technologies, as well as highly skilled in managing and performing manual
testing. You should be able to recommend and implement a suitable approach to testing based on project and client requirements.
They will work within an Agile environment, working closely with software developers, business analysts and representatives from client
organisations. Open, constructive and timely communication with colleagues and clients is essential.

Responsibilities / Hard Skills
Hands on development of new automated test scenarios.
Hands on manual testing where required.
Highly experienced in web application test automation using Cucumber, Selenium, WebDriver and Java.
Highly experienced in web API test automation.
Adaptable and technically capable to work in a variety of test automation technologies.
Recommend and implement appropriate testing strategies based on project and client requirements, championing automation to improve
quality and repeatability.
Support the requirements gathering and user story definition processes.
Lead the definition of the test scenarios which will be used to verify requirements.
Provide clear communications on the status of QA activities throughout the entire project life.
Identify, document and prioritise bugs for resolution.
Experience working with build and test automation tooling, including Jenkins, Maven and JUnit.
Experience working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices.
Intermediate Java and SQL, and use of Git for source control. A background in software development and Object Oriented Programming
is a distinct advantage.
