Technical Training Manager

One of the West Midlands fastest growing tech organsations is looking for another new role to help with internal and client acquisition. The role is responsible for Technical on-boarding of new starters and continuous up-skilling of existing Client Services staff. You will also be responsible for the chargeable training services to new and existing clients. The aim of your role will be to accelerate improved staff learning thus contributing towards productivity and efficiency.

Your duties will include
• Develop the set-up plan
• Design and establish relevant processes for accessing training services
• Design the structure and content for the initial launch of the Academy, consulting audiences
• Work with the COO to refine the financial model (P&L)
• Ratify the expected volume of work against the headcount and prepare the case for additional recruitment if required
• Develop the internal launch plan and processes, including TNA in conjunction with colleagues
• Deliver suitable modules of training to relevant audiences based on the TNA
• Support all training by relevant material and exercises; design post-course validation and reinforcement learning
• After a period of ‘bedding in’ develop the external launch plan and processes, including client TNA
• Deliver suitable modules of training to relevant clients based on the TNA
• Based on the initial delivery and TNA, develop a plan for further enhancement of the training curriculum
• Continually enhance and update the library of materials that support the training programme, including the development of online artifacts
• Track sales of external training against the agreed P&L
• Design and develop a meaningful online learning proposition
• Work with colleagues to agree the optimal portal design
• Develop the charging structure to support an external release of the service
• Manage the function to break even and simultaneously deliver excellent internal training and technical learning resources

• 5 or more years’ experience of a similar role within the software development sector
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to run effective training sessions
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
• Good attention to detail
• Detailed understanding of software development
• Current experience with e-learning platforms
• Ability to function in a rapidly changing environment
