An opportunity for an experienced Technical Architect has become available, to work for an industry expert within the financial sector and has over 30 years’ experience in the industry.

The Role:

As a Technical Architect, you will be the design authority and own Architecture Descriptions and technical specifications. Furthermore, you will provide expert technical advice to colleagues.

This role will require strategic thinking and looking ahead for future objectives. As such, ensuring the company maintains a technical competitive advantage will be crucial. Writing technical user stories and validating solutions to ensure they meet requirements. Host regular brown bag sessions and technical demos to showcase new technology and spread knowledge.

You will work with the development teams in an agile environment and raise early technical risks with CIO and other executives in to manage risk. Finally, this role will require the creation of customer facing technical documentation.

Essential:

• Experience leading technical teams and delivering user-focused services
• Development and application architecture experience
• Experience of cloud architecture with Azure or AWS
• Strong knowledge of at least two programming languages – (at least .NET or Java)
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns
• Good knowledge of open-source technologies
• Good knowledge of test-driven development and automated testing
• Experience of microservices, event sourcing and distributed systems architecture
• Understanding of agile environments, continual delivery, and DevOps cultures
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Good writing skills

Desirable:

• User story writing experience
• Open API and OData specifications
• Async API specification
• Azure services – AAD
• Kubernetes, Docker swarm or similar
• UML and BPMN modelling and tools
• BDD and Gherkin
• Wiki authoring such as Markdown and MediaWiki
• Git source control
